Unexplained crying or sadness Suicide threats, either direct or indirect
Severe drop in school performance Relationship difficulties
Increased use of alcohol or drugs Headaches or stomachaches with no physical cause
Eating or sleeping problems, nightmares Depression or panic
Significant change in behavior Irrational or bizarre behavior
Grinding teeth Confusion

 

The following are some guidelines for building your coping plan.

  • Admit as to what is bothering you.
  • Talk about it openly.
  • Give your self enough time to grieve.
  • Balance solitude with sociability.
  • Find a creative outlet.
  • Set limits and encourage others to do likewise.
  • Eat healthy and nutritious meals.
  • Move, stretch, breathe, touch and exercise.
  • Don't let others tell you how you should feel.
  • Utilize available resources.
  • Remember, you are not alone.
